October Prayer Letter

Justin and Angie Arender-Missionaries to the Philippines

Pastor and Churches,

The month of October was a wonderful month for us. We had several churches pick us up for monthly support! What a blessing. We are now at 56%. We are planning on leaving for the Philippines in March. We were going to leave the end of February, but if we wait 2 weeks we can save a thousand dollars on plane tickets.

We were at Blessed Hope Baptist Church at the beginning of the month. Bro. Ben Bohanick, the pastor at the church fixed our can for us. That was also a tremendous blessing for us. Our van ran really good for about 3 weeks and then started acting up again. Our gas tank is still leaking and we still have an oil leak. Please pray that our van will make it until March!

We will be in Texas the most of the month of November. We will be in the San Antonio, Austin area. That is where we will be spending our Thanksgiving. Laken, Lauren, and Laci are still doing really well with the traveling. Their school work is also going really well. We are still pretty much booked up until March, with just a few opening here and there but not many. We are going to start sending our prayer letter every other month while on deputation. Once we get to the field we will be sending one every month. Please continue to pray for us as we continue on our deputation!

September Prayer Letter

Justin and Angie Arender – Missionaries to the Philippines

Dear Pastor and Church,

I would like to apologize that the September newsletter is a little late being sent out. We are still hitting the deputation trail hard. This month we spend about 2 ½ weeks in Edmond, OK. Calvary Baptist Church, one of our supporting churches, allowed us to stay in their missions' apartment and work out of there. There were a couple of churches within driving distance of there that we had to go to for deputation. So we stayed there and drove back and forth. The 2 ½ weeks that we were there at Calvary Baptist Church was a tremendous blessing for my family and I. We still have a full schedule up until the end of February. Our projected date to leave for the field is February 28, 2011. We are trying to save up for our plane tickets so we can purchase them by December, where we can get a good rate on them. If we wait until after December to purchase our tickets then the price of the tickets will go up. It is going to cost us around $6000 dollars for the tickets.

Our girls are still doing well will all the traveling and all. We are trying to think of things that they might can do in the vehicle to keep them occupied where they won't get so bored and where they won't drive me and Angie crazy! Ha! Any suggestions please let me know! PLEASE! Ha! Continue to pray for us as we continue on deputation! We love you all!

Love in Christ,

August Prayer Letter

Justin and Angie Arender – Missionaries to the Philippines

Dear Pastor and Church,

The month of August has definitely been a trying one. It seems like satan is working extra hard this month. We have had some trouble with our van this month.  When we are going down the road it starts jumping or it has no power. When we come to a stop it either wants to go dead or it wants to take off. It just can't seem to make up its mind which one it wants to do. We have taken it to three mechanics and they don't even know what is wrong with it. We have definitely put some money into our van this month, changing all the sensors and doing everything they have told us to do to fix the problem and nothing has worked.  Not only that but we have also discovered that our gas tank is also leaking on our van. We are really asking prayer that our van will make it until we get ready to leave for the Philippines. We really can't afford to put anymore money into it. We don't want to be broke down on the side of the road somewhere, especially with our three precious girls; Laken, Lauren, and Laci.

Angie and I have started homeschooling our girls this past month. This is our first year homeschooling so please pray for us. It can get trying at times. But the girls have adjusted really well to us teaching them. Lauren, our middle child, had a birthday August 30th. She turned 5 years old. Angie and I have been very proud of our girls through deputation. Yes, they get a little hyper sometimes from having to sit down a lot and not being able to release a lot of that energy they have, but over all they have done really well.

We had four churches cancel their meetings that we had scheduled in August. But the Lord still provided for us more than we could have asked for. It seems like sometimes when it rains it pours but I know that we serve a Might God and that through Him we can overcome anything that satan may throw at us. We just have to put our faith and trust in the Lord and He will see us through.

Please keep my family and I in your prayers as we continue on deputation. We are looking forward to becoming apart of your mission program.

Love in Christ,

July Prayer Letter

Justin and Angie Arender – Missionaries to the Philippines

Dear Pastor and Church,

The month of July was a pretty busy month for my family and I. We were only in 7 churches the month of July but we were in 2 conferences and 1 camp meeting.

At the beginning of the month we were at Caney Baptist Church in Lumberton, MS. We presented our work there and told them about the projects that is going on now in the ministry that we will be in. Caney Baptist Church had vacation bible school this month and the money they raised went toward the feeding program that the ministry has started over in the Philippines. They raised around 1100 dollars to go toward that program. That was a huge blessing! We really appreciate that! We also appreciate all the other churches that send extra every month for that program as well!

I have been wanting to buy a guitar to play so my family can sing as we go around on deputation. When we were in Memphis, TN at Oakcrest Baptist Church, I asked one of the guys there if he could recommend a good guitar. During the services that night he goes up to the front and gave me one of his guitars. That was such a blessing to me!

I got to help put John and Romans booklets together when we were in Branson West, MO at Talking Rock Road Baptist Church. That was also a blessing!

We had some excitement in our lives the end of this month. We were in Garland, TX at Rodger's Baptist Church for a missions conference. It was the last day of conference and Angie woke up hurting in the lower part of her back. We took her to the ER and they done a CT Scan and blood work on her and found 4 kidney stones. She was trying to pass one of them and she had 3 more in her right kidney. She still hasn't passed any of them and she has been in a lot of pain off and on so please keep her in your prayers. Rodgers Baptist Church has also taken up a love offering to help us with that medical expense. That is so much appreciated!

Laken, Lauren, and Laci have still been doing really well with all the traveling. I have been very proud of them! They do get a little antsy sometimes for having to sit so much but we try to let them run and play off a lot of that energy they have. We will be starting there school work in August so please be in prayer for that as well. Homeschooling on the road? I am sure that it is going to be somewhat of a challenge!

Please continue to pray for us as we continue on our deputation! We love and pray for each and everyone of you! God Bless!

Justin and Angie Arender – Missionaries to the Philippines

Dear Pastor and Church,

I know that I am late this month getting the prayer letter out and I do apologize for that. We have gotten the air conditioner fixed in our van and it has been such a blessing too! Just in time for the summer heat! This past month we were able to purchase new tires and tie rods for our van. I went to get new tires on the van and get the van aligned. When they took the tires off they were so dry rotted on the inside you could pull the tire apart with your fingers. After they had gotten the tires on they couldn't align the van cause the tie rods were about to break, so I had them replaced too. God was really taking care of us for us not to have a blow out or a tie rod break while traveling.

The beginning of June we were able to spend a week with our sending church, Bible Baptist Church in El Dorado, AR, helping them with VBS. At the end of the month we were able to go to church camp with them at Triple S Ranch in Rosebud, AR. Five of the children that the church took to camp were saved!! It was such a blessing for my family and I to get to spend time with them this month.

Also this month we were at a church in Madison, MS.  They let us borrow a cargo trailer, that is enclosed, to carry our things in while on deputation to free up space in our van. We didn't have a trailer hitch on our van so they paid to have one put on there for us. What a blessing that was! The only thing was that the trailer was too big for our van to pull. But, the Lord even blessed once again! Bro. Freret from BEAMS found a smaller used cargo trailer that our van would be able to pull. We were able to purchase it.

We were only in eight churches in the month of June. We will be doing a lot more traveling this month so please continue to pray that the Lord will be with us as my family and I continue to travel on deputation. We love each and everyone of you and we pray for you all everyday.

Thanks,

Justin and Angie Arender

P.S. Please email me your email address if you would like for us to send our prayer letter through email rather than mailing it. That sure would be a blessing for us! That way we will be able to save that money that we use for stamps, ink, paper, and envelopes.

Also, We have a website now. We were at a church in Mississippi and the Lord laid on this pastor's heart to do a website for us. We gave him all of our information and he has been working on it. What a blessing! It is www. nailscarredhands.com. Our prayer letter will also be posted to this website every month.
